That quiet girl in the corner...

I have always been a more reserved/observant/thinker- type person. Just ask my dad who likes to tell the story of dropping me off at kindergarden. I pulled out my chair, sat down, and quietly watched the chaos of the other kids playing, crying, talking and all that. All my life, I have had one or two really good girlfriends- it's pretty much all I can handle, seeing that I love nothing more than to sit across a table a deeply investing in another person- it takes a lot of time, especially now with a husband and four kids!

It can take me awhile to open up, especially when I am not too sure of who will be at the other end.  That brings me to my blog...the ULTIMATE in not knowing who is on the other end!

Reading The Nester today for some reason made me realize that I am getting to know all of these wonderful women, but I have not given them the chance for them to know me. Not that I think I am super totally cool (well sometimes I am, like when I actually understand my daughter's 3rd grade math homework...yes, my math skills are THAT bad!), but I really see blogging as a community of women/moms/daughters reaching across cyberspace (is that term even still used anymore?!) and speaking into one another's lives.

So, think about it this way...I love being in a Bible study/group discussion where every single person there shares at least one thing.  And why I love this is because it gives me a little insight into that person...something I may not have known before.  But when a person sits there silent (usually me!), the group does not benefit from their life experiences or opinions or comments. There is a lack of connection that goes both ways.

Am I making sense?

So, here it is, post numero 2...opening myself up one post at a time!!
